LOGAN — Clara Ernst Comadena, 95, of Logan, Utah, died on Monday, July 7, 2014. Clara was one of eight children born to Katherine Misch and Adam Ernst. Clara was born in Donnelly, Minnesota, on July 30, 1918.
Clara married her one true love, Nick Comadena, on May 6, 1943. For 70 years they were by each other’s side until Nick’s passing last year. Clara was a loving and loyal mother and wife whose single focus was to raise her two sons (Larry and Steve) with love
and support.
Clara and Nick raised their family in western Pennsylvania after World War II. Clara was the wife of a steel worker, and the glue of the family unit — in charge of
the household.
Upon retirement, Nick and Clara followed their son Larry to Logan, Utah, in the spring of 1976. Cache Valley has been home to the couple ever since.
Clara is survived by her sons, Steve Allen (MaryJean) Comadena of Riverside, California, Larry Edward (Tina) Comadena of Logan; six grandchildren, Stephanie Comadena, Sean(Mara) Comadena, Nikila (Juan) Lopez, K.C. (Mel) Comadena, Cole Comadena and Kaden Comadena, five great-grandchildren, Jansen Comadena, Portia Lopez, Ellis Comadena, Joaquin Lopez, and Rockwell Comadena.
Mom loved to cook and passed on that love to her sons and grandchildren. Clara taught herself to crochet and sew and, like her husband, Nick, was very talented with her hands. Clara never had a messy house or hungry house guests and took great pride in her work.
Always caring and giving, Clara was truly a sweet soul and a woman of great faith and conviction. And, yes, also a Steelers fan! Mom/Grandma/Great-Grandma will be missed so much. The Comadena Family would like to give a special thanks to the fabulous people at Legacy House, the
hospice workers at Logan Regional Hospital and Dr. Keith Nelson for their loving care and support.
A graveside family service was held at the Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. allenmortuaries.net.
