Clara Lorentzen Christensen Larson

December 2, 1910 — August 10, 2007

Clara Lorentzen Christensen Larson, 96, died peacefully on August 10, 2007. She was born in Blackfoot Idaho December 2, 1910, the oldest child of Nephi and Laura Lorentzen Christensen. As a child she lived in Blackfoot until attending Ricks College where she met Emil Ford Larson, who was born in Dunby, Sweden. They both enjoyed dancing and a love for music and shared their musical talents with many.

She and Emil taught school together for 15 years in Wyoming, Idaho and Utah finally moving to Logan in 1950. Emil passed away in 1965.

Clara taught school in Logan City for 34 years and truly influenced the lives of many children in the area. While raising a family, she returned to college and obtained a masters degree in music education. She taught private voice and piano lessons to many in the valley and has always been willing to share her talents with others. She directed many ward and stake choirs and has been a guest vocal soloist and guest conductor in Idaho and Utah. Music has provided her many years great joy.

Clara has served in all LDS church organizations holding many special callings. She’s been a PTA president and worked in other civic groups. She also cherished her opportunity to be an officiator for 16 years in the Logan LDS Temple where choice friendships grew.

Clara is survived by her children Noma Larson Isaacs, Logan Utah, Marco (Richard) Huddleston, Pleasant View Utah, Gilbert Larson, (Joyce) Providence Utah, 11 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil and their infant son Milford.

Clara was a true example of courage, kindness and determination. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 15th at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to services at the mortuary from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will be in the Preston, Idaho Cemetery.
