Clara Mae Crosswhite Brown passed away September 29,
2006 in Logan, Utah. She was eighty-three years old.
She was born July 5, 1923 in Charleston, West
Virginia, the fifth of nine children of Ike Andrew
Crosswhite and Clara Maud McCune.
Clara met and married Lael V. Brown of Trenton, Utah
when he was stationed in Baltimore, Maryland during
WWII. They moved to Logan where they raised two boys
and built a rental properties business.
Clara was a tall, beautiful, smart, and spirited woman
with a generous and playful heart. She was an avid
reader, enjoyed collecting, and managed her properties
up to her passing.
She is survived by two sons: Robert L. (Sandra) Brown
and Michael S Brown; granddaughter Jennifer Nielson;
grandson Todd (Stacy) Brown; and six
great-grandchildren. Three sisters also survive her:
Margaret White and Marjorie Miller, both of Portland,
Oregon; and Mary McCallister of Millwood, West
Virginia.
It was Clara’s wish that there be no public service.
The family will have a private celebration of her life
at a later date. She will be missed.
