Clara Wood Davis, 81, of Logan died Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the Orchard Cove Care Center in Bountiful, Utah, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Clara was born July 13, 1926, in Garland, Utah, the youngest of eight children and only daughter of Charles William and Hannah Claire Leavitt Wood. She married her childhood friend, neighbor, and sweetheart, Robert H. Davis, for all eternity on August 8, 1945, in the Logan LDS Temple.
She was reared in Garland, Utah, graduating from Bear River High School. She attended Utah State Agricultural College then Beauty School in Logan, becoming a licensed beautician, an occupation she loved for over 50 years.
The love she felt for her Heavenly Father and her Savior Jesus Christ was manifest throughout her life by the love and tireless service she rendered to her family and anyone in need. Her warmth, sense of humor, and compassion drew all who knew her to love her. We will miss her dearly but are deeply grateful for her release from suffering and her joyous reunion with her husband, parents, brothers, and so many others whose lives she touched.
She is survived by three sons: Brent (Ellen) Davis of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, David (Sheri) Davis of Sandy, Utah, Scott (Susan) Davis of Farmington, Utah; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Clyde (Beth) Wood of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 12 noon in the Lundstrom Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 1260 North 1600 East in Logan. Friends may call at Allen-Hall Mortuary Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM and at the Church on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM prior to the funeral. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
