Clarence Milo Benson

November 4, 1930 — October 29, 2013

LOGAN, UTAH: Clarence Milo Benson, 82, passed way on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Logan. He was born November 4, 193 in Newton, Utah son of Willis and Emma Benson. He was the youngest of four children, all whom have preceded him in death. He was known to those around him as Milo. The family occupation was farming and ranching where he spent most of his life doing just that. He graduated from North Cache High School in 1949. He was an Elder in the LDS Church but was rarely seen in meetings, as he would rather be watching the crops grow. At 21 years old, June 16, 1952, he was called into active service during the Korean War. He had basic training at Fort Ord, California, and was sent to Korea for one year. In 1959 he married Elaine Robinson. They had two sons, Scott and Todd. Milo and Elaine later divorced. In 1974 he moved to the beautiful Frenchtown Valley in Montana. There he met Margaret Dahlberg, and they were married in 1977. They had a daughter, Christie. During their time together in Montana, they loved traveling in the motor home with the boat, camping and fishing. He fished from Costa Rica to British Columbia. In 1998 they moved to the warmth of a small town in Arizona, to be near their daughter, called Wickenburg. In 1999, after two short years, Margaret passed away. He seemed lost and returned back to his roots of beautiful Cache Valley. He was surrounded by his boys, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He spent the remainder of his life involved with them going to lunch and ballgames. He had three children, eight grandchildren and multiple great grandchildren. Whether in Cache Valley, Frenchtown or Wickenburg, he was a friend to all, and he had many. We as a family wish to thank them all for their love and kindness for this great man. Now gone but not forgotten. We love you dad!

The family would like to express thanks to those who provided such great care for him the last few months, Hospice and Senior Care. With a special thanks to Matt and Claire for their tender care for dad.

Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the Newton Cemetery with military honors. There will be a viewing at the Newton LDS Church on Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Funeral directors are Allen-Hall Mortuary.
