Clark Mortenson

February 5, 1926 — September 11, 2008

North Logan, Utah: Dr. Clark Mortenson, 82, passed away on the morning of September 11, 2008, surrounded by family.
Clark was born February 5, 1926 to Rulon and Elda Mortenson, in Ephraim, Utah. He married his soul mate, Ramah Jean Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple, February 2, 1953.
He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Anne Arundel in the South Pacific during W.W.II. He returned from war to serve an L.D.S. mission in Sweden. He also had opportunities to serve on the High Council, in the Bishopric and in the Young Men’s Organization as a Teachers’s Quorum advisor.
He attended school at Snow College, U.S.U., U.C. Davis, and received his D.V.M. from Iowa State College.
Clark started his first veterinary practice, The Bear River Animal Hospital in Tremonton, Utah. He moved his family to Provo, Utah in 1970 where he taught in the Animal Science Department at B.Y.U... He then built his new veterinary practice, The University Veterinary Clinic, in Provo, where he practiced on small and large animals until his retirement at age 76.
He was preceded in death by his sweetheart, Ramah, and his son Kent. He is survived by his children, Blake C. (Trish) Mortenson, of North Logan and Jan M.(Daniel) Triplett, of Providence and his grandchildren, Laura, Brett, Bryce & Brock Mortenson and Spenser, Shawn and Sawyer Triplett.
We wish to thank his hospice nurse, Diane Crockett and her tireless C.N.A.'s for their amazing care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2008 in the North Logan 11th Ward Chapel, 1550 East 1900 North in North Logan. A viewing will be held on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, and prior to services on Monday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Ephraim, Utah Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
