Claude Kent Andrews

Claude Kent Andrews, beloved father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2024 surrounded by his family. 

Claude was born on November 01, 1935, to William Leo and Gertrude Eudora Kent Andrews in Logan, Utah, where he was raised and graduated from Logan High School. He was married and had three children, Jefferie (Michelle) Andrews, Kristie (Robert) Johnson, and Debora Eskelson, and later divorced. He met and married his dearest Joyce Cowperthwaite on June 14, 1980. His family grew with this union to include Lora (Jerry) Martinez and Scott (Susan) Andersen. 

Claude was a man of many talents and passions. In his youth, he excelled in sports, showcasing his skills as a pitcher on the baseball diamond, a quarterback of the football team, and was a member of the track team. He was also class president at Logan High School. He served his country in the U.S National Guard Reserve. After retiring from the Defense Depot Ogden, he spent many years with the Weber County Search and Rescue. He dedicated time with family and friends to include activities such as hunting, camping, snowmobiling, riding UTVs, and touring the country with his wife in their motorhome. 

Claude is survived by his children, ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his sister LaRee Fullmer, and daughter Debora.

Claude’s legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on and continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him. His love and wisdom will be deeply missed but cherished forever in the hearts of those who knew him. 

A service to honor Claude’s life will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024 beginning at 10:00am at Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah. Graveside Services will follow at Logan City Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Weber County Search and Rescue.
