Cleo Susie Burt Thompson Call

Cleo Susie Burt Thompson Call, sweet Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 at the age of 96.
Cleo was born February 2nd, 1920 in Clarkston, Utah. She was the fourth of eight children born to Joseph John Burt and Daisy Marvella Buttars. She cherished her Clarkston roots and the love she had for her family and extended family. Cleo spent her early school years in Clarkston and graduated from North Cache High School.
Cleo married Dean S. Thompson, also from Clarkston on November 27th, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple. Dean passed away May 19th, 1971. Cleo worked for State Wallpaper, and after Dean was diagnosed with leukemia she became an X-ray Technician. She worked hard to become certified as a registered X-ray Technician. She worked at the Logan Hospital for twelve years and the Malad Hospital for ten years.
On November 15th, 1972 she married Ben W. Call and moved to Malad, Idaho. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home, snowmobiling and four wheeling together with family and friends. They later retired and moved to Logan.
Cleo was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities. She and Ben served as temple workers in the Logan LDS Temple. They also served a mission in Des Moines, Iowa. Ben passed away January 2nd, 2000.
Cleo was always serving those around her and sharing her many talents. She volunteered as a pink lady at Logan Regional Hospital for twenty years. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking rolls and pies, canning and making her “Made by Grannie” jeans and quilts. She was awarded Homemaker of the Year at the Oneida County Fair while living in Malad. Cleo treasured and honored her role as Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Homemaker.
If you ever had the opportunity to meet Cleo you instantly fell in love with her. She was loved and adored by all. She had a twinkle in her eye and a smile that could light up a room. She lived life to the fullest and found joy in the journey.
She is survived by her children, Val Dean (Sherrin) Thompson, Susann (Blaine) Hancey and Craig (Debbie) Thompson. Stepchildren, Ben (Jane) Call and Mary Ann (Darrell) Dalrymple. 21 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren. Her brother John (Merle) Burt and sister in-law Maurine Burt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Dean S. Thompson and Ben W. Call. Brothers Lavell Chuck (Elva) Burt and Lyle Burt. Sisters, Norma (Lawrence) Bowen, LaRene Burt, Velma (Alvin) Davis and Merle (Marlin) Fife. Stepchildren Elna (Larry) Allen.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the loving staff of Terrace Grove for their tender care of Cleo.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary and will be held Monday, October 24th at noon in the Bridgerland Park 1st Ward Chapel, 825 North 200 West, Logan. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am to 11:45 am prior to services at the church. Interment at the Clarkston City Cemetery following the funeral service.
