Cleo Harris Page

March 9, 1935 — December 7, 2014

Cleo Harris Page, 79, died peacefully in her sleep early in the morning of Sunday, December 7, 2014. She was a temporary resident of Sunshine Terrace in Logan, UT, at the time of her death.
Cleo was born on March 9, 1935, the first daughter of Leo McGee and Mary Jane Harris, in Logan, UT. She grew up with her sister, Sharlene, in Wellsville, UT. There she attended school, finally graduating with honors from South Cache High School. She soon married her high school sweetheart, Garth Clark Page, of Nibley, UT. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on June 5, 1952. She busied herself preparing a lovely home for them while Clark served his country in the Korean conflict. Upon his release from the military, they began their family. Five children were born to the happy couple: Beverly, Brent, Laura Lee, LaDawn, and Valerie. Cleo’s greatest joy and sense of accomplishment were her children and subsequent grandchildren. She loved them dearly and was always keenly interested in their welfare and activities.
Cleo and Clark lived briefly in Ogden, UT, where Dad worked, before moving to their family homestead residence in the island area of Logan, UT. They lived in this house for over 50 years, where Dad developed the large landscape and Mom provided a beautiful, comfortable home for her family.
Throughout her life, Cleo succeeded in several occupational positions, but her primary professional experience was working for many years as a specialist seat-cover designer and seamstress for Alco/Saddleman Seat Covers in Logan, UT. While there she made many endearing friendships with co-workers.
Cleo was a strong woman of faith who was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She joyfully served in multiple positions in her church all throughout her life. Cleo had a generous spirit and a natural instinct to provide unconditional love for those who had made mistakes or were somehow in trouble. She had difficulty watching the evening news on television because it made her heart ache to see the victims of natural disasters or crime. She hated seeing others suffer and excelled at giving comfort to those less fortunate than she. Mom genuinely liked everyone and had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh.
Along with her sister, she was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed participating in their many activities. Cleo had a special fondness for beauty, whether it was fine art or found in nature. She especially loved all kinds of flowers, but her favorite was the simple, white daisy. She collected hundreds of elephant figurines. She enjoyed a wide variety of musical styles. Her favorite movie star was Sean Connery. Blue was her favorite color. Mom was an elegant, intellectual woman who enjoyed her life, especially when it involved her immediate and extended family members. She will be missed by her many friends and beloved family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to the services on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, also at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
