Clifton Ronald Johnson

Clifton Ronald Johnson, 74 of Wellsville, Utah, passed away January 1, 2017 from complications of cancer. Ronald was born January 9, 1942 in Murray, Utah to Clifton Wesley and Beverly Jaynes Johnson. He attended Crescent Elementary, Mt. Jordan Jr. High School, Jordan High School, and the University of Utah. He married Glenda Mary Archibald in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in 1968 and together they raised four sons. He had a successful career as a Professional Civil Engineer, working in Utah, California, and Wyoming. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served two years in the Alaskan-Canadian Mission. He also served in many church callings including Bishop and High Councilor. He especially enjoyed working with the Young Men, teaching the Gospel Doctrine Class, and serving as an Ordinance Worker in the Logan LDS Temple. He loved his family, was proud of his grandchildren, and enjoyed helping support his grandsons on their missions. After retiring he spent many hours compiling a history of his family, and supporting family members in their activities. Ronald especially enjoyed family outings at Bear Lake, family Christmas parties, fishing at Wellsville Reservoir, Maddox prime rib, Tabernacle Choir Broadcasts, ‘Old Radio’ programs, and University of Utah Football.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clifton Wesley and Beverly Jaynes Johnson. He is survived by his wife Glenda; sons Craig (Wendy), Dennis (Jennifer), Bryan (Kimberly), and Kevin (Jessica); brothers Stephen and Milton; and 17 grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who gave love and encouragement, and helped to care for him during his last days.
A viewing will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E. Center St. Logan, Utah. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 10:00 am, at the Wellsville 5th Ward LDS Chapel, 660 S. 100 W. Wellsville, Utah. Prior to the service a viewing will be held at the church from 8:30 to 9:30am. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Crescent Cemetery, 11105 S.
