Providence, Utah: Clinton D. Thompson, 69, died Sunday, May 7, 2006 at home after courageously enduring kidney cancer. Clint was born April 30, 1937 in Roosevelt, Utah to Morland R. and Marie Bolton Thompson. He married JoAnn Jensen June 16, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple.
When Clint was 3 years old his family moved to Providence where he has since resided. He was educated in local schools and having a curious mind he continued to expand and enhance his knowledge throughout his life.
Clint’s life has been spent in service to his fellowmen, LDS Church callings, his family, friends, neighbors and the community of Providence. He is well known for giving a hand to anyone in need. He generously shared his time, talents, skills, and knowledge and has been a mentor and counselor to many.
His 38 ½ years of employment at Thiokol were both challenging and rewarding as the industry evolved from research and development to production of defense hardware and eventually to Space Shuttle Boosters. At retirement, in 1997, Clint was Superintendent of Space Operations in the Control Center.
