Cloteel Christiansen Larsen Wilkinson died January 7, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by her children. She was born November 13,1923 in Hyrum Utah to Rosa Teresa Zilles and Aaron Christiansen. She attended BYU and then worked in San Francisco processing passports during WWII. Upon her return, she married J. Ross Larsen in the Logan Temple, July 17, 1947. Together they had four children, Terri (Steve)DeJohn, Kristi (Russ)Paulsen, Kathy (Rulon) Jones and Jeff (Carolyn) Larsen. Ross preceded her in death on September 26, 1991. She married George Wilkinson on August 17, 2001, and they enjoyed over a decade together before he passed away.
“Mother, or Mom” were frequently uttered as her children requested much from her and were very rarely refused. She is a mother to emulate. After her children left home, she worked beside her husband, Ross, at Logan Optical. She taught service by example. She made the world more beautiful with her gardening skills, which were legendary; she had an award winning rose garden. She was even better in the kitchen with her famous pecan pie and other delights sharing her talents with many friends and neighbors in their time of need. “Grandma” loved spoiling her grandchildren and had a special relationship with each of them. She was proud of their accomplishments and interested in their lives. They will miss her example, her cheers at ballgames, her love and her candy bars.
As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society and later in life as a temple worker. She served in the Independence, MO mission where she learned that “a computer would not explode if you touched the wrong key”.
She had a wonderful group of friends who played bridge together, enjoyed an annual girls’ trip to Bear Lake, and shared books and lunch at Study Guild. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers
She is survived by her children, 16 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, her sister Joan (Denzel) Datwyler, and brothers, Dale (Pauline) Christiansen and LeGrande (Mamie) Christiansen. She was proceeded in death by her husbands, parents, brother Gordon, and sisters Marzell (Wes) Downs, and RoseMaree (Lynn) Pilkington.
