Colleen Olney Lawlor

Our loving and beautiful mother, grandmother, and sister passed away June 4th 2013 peacefully in her sleep at home. We know that she is having an amazing reunion with those dear ones who have gone on before her! She will be deeply missed by so many until we see her again.

Colleen was born April 15th, 1934 in Smithfield Utah to Wallace Lorin Olney and Mona Gladys Moore Olney. Colleen grew up in Smithfield where she had a wonderful childhood with her two sisters and brother living in the quite country. They all worked very hard, and hand many enjoyable years together there as a family. Colleen loved her time at North Cache High School where she graduated in 1952 forming many life long friendships.
On Christmas Eve 1953 Colleen married the her soul mate and the love of her Life Ian “Ike” Lawlor in her family home in Smithfield. After the reception the newly wed couple moved to Alemeda California where Ike was stationed with the U.S. Navy. Soon afterward Ike was honorably discharged from the service, and the two moved to Orem Utah where they started their family with four children.
Colleen Ike both worked for Karl's Shoes of Provo for many years, until they had the opportunity to purchase Randall's Shoes in Logan in 1969. Mom was thrilled to be returning to her beloved Cache Valley. Together they owned and operated the shoe store for 22 years, a business where in they made innumerable friends in the community they served. This was a beautiful time in mom's life as she so loved working with people and raising her family.
Colleen carried over her love of working with the public for many years as a greeter at Sam's Club where she made countless more friendships. She had a beautiful life filled with love and all of those things that make life such an adventure ~ and a wonderful journey. Colleen will be loved and missed by all of those whose lives she has touched.
