Colleen Mair Tibke

June 17, 1950 — July 11, 2023

Colleen Tibke, of Paradise, UT. passed away Tuesday July 11, 2023, at 73 years of age. She was born June 17th of 1950 to Wes and Marie Mair of Paradise UT. She was the 5th of 7 children. Sadly, the following evening her sister, LaRee Floyd also passed away unexpectedly.

Colleen was raised on the family dairy farm in Paradise. As a child she loved all the animals on the farm and taking care of them, she also learned and fell in love with gardening, and it became a lifelong passion. Her favorite things were family hunting trips, camping, fishing and being with family.

As a young woman Colleen married her first husband, Ted Pollis, and they welcomed their daughter Tina into the world. She later met and married her 2nd husband, Deloy Jessop and she was blessed with another daughter, Sheri. However, 3rd time was the charm for Colleen and her family when she met James “Tip” Tibke. In him she found her life mate. Tip loved Tina and Sheri as his own and they prepared to start their lives. Sadly, tragedy struck when Sheri passed away at the age of 16 in a car accident. It was a moment in time that devastated Colleen and her family. Later that year Tip and Colleen were wed on September 7th, 1987, which would have been Sheri’s birthday.

Colleen’s oldest Daughter, Tina moved back east and was blessed with 3 children whom Colleen and family loved dearly. Her grandchildren loved her jokes and felt she was quite the character. Tina dealt with a variety of medical conditions and passed away in April of 2021. Losing both of her daughters changed Colleen in many ways but she was able to find some solace in being able to carry on their memories through her grandchildren, for which she was very thankful. They kept in touch regularly via phone calls and video chats. Colleen and Tip were able to see them the week before her passing, as their grandchildren came from Pennsylvania to visit for a week. She was able to meet her great grandchildren in person for the first time and she was so happy and thrilled to have that time together with them. During that week some of Colleen’s siblings, including LaRee, visited the farm for a BBQ and enjoyed their time together.

Colleen is survived by her husband James “Tip” Tibke, her siblings, Skip Mair (Jeri), JoAnn Miller (Gary, Deceased), Linda Buzzell (Dale), LaFaun Floyd, Debbie Broberg, Morris Mair (Angie), her grandchildren Benton (Alyssa), Shelby and Kylee and her great-grandchildren, RayLan and Rhett as well as their future great granddaughter Willow. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents Wes and Marie Mair, her 2 daughters, Tina Bensley and Sheri Jessop, her sister LaRee Floyd (passed the day after Colleen), as well as her 2 nieces Shelley Christiensen (Linda and Dale) and Valorie Petty (JoAnn and Gary).

There will be a Viewing Held Friday July 21, at Paradise 3rd ward church located at 9060 S. 200 W. from 11am-12pm followed by a grave side service at 12:30 at the Paradise Cemetery 8940 S. 340 E
