Colt Richard Woodland returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on May 7, 2017 after valiantly fulfilling his earthly mission.
Colt was born on October 19, 2016 to loving parents, Richard and Braquel Woodland; arriving with a big heart and a giant spirit. From the very beginning, Colt loved everyone he came in contact with, freely giving his bright smile accompanied by his big blue eyes. Probably knowing that his earthly time would be short, Colt had a zest for life and wanted to experience everything as fast as possible. As soon as he learned to move, he was a go-getter and there was no stopping him.
Venturing outside was one of Colt’s all-time favorite things. He loved spending time with his mom going on walks, playing peek-a-boo, and cuddling on the couch. The world never ceased to amaze him. Colt’s love of life not only encompassed exploring, but also included his large appetite, entertaining everyone at church, and being sung to or playing with his dad and sister, Graci.
Even though Colt was a very happy baby, his big sister seemed to bring out a joy in him that no one else could. He loved to watch her play and follow her wherever she would go, within his reach. Graci had a knack for producing his deepest laughs and biggest smiles as they played together. She is a constant reminder of hope and the reality of being with him again as an eternal family.
Colt is survived by his sister, Graci Lee; parents, Richard and Braquel Woodland; grandparents Chad and Shauna Clawson, Scott and Lucinda Woodland; great-grandparents Reed and Joyce Kirby, Claine and Zada Clawson, Dan and Lanae Wheatley, Liese Hofmann; nine uncles, six aunts, nine cousins, and countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Carrol and Clifford Woodland.
Colt will be greatly missed by his family and friends here on earth. We are grateful for Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness and the knowledge we have to hold him in our arms again.
