Conna "Doris" Gibbons

Conna "Doris" Gibbons passed away September 24, 2006 surrounded by her family, she succumbed to an infection following heart surgery.
She was born in Preston, Idaho on June 11, 1936 to Ervey and Ada Gibson Atkins. She was raised in Compton, California where she grad uated from high school. She married Glen Dee Gibbons on March 27, 1953 in Compton, California. They were sealed in the St. George Temple on January 29, 1955. They loved each other dearly for 53 years.
They were blessed with five children: Daniel Gibbons-who preceded her in death at the age of 2, Barbara (Rick) Scrivner of Baker City, Oregon, William (Jo) Gibbons of Pleasanton, California, Robert Gibbons of Newton, Utah and Conna (Kim) Chapman of Monroe, Utah.
Dee and Doris are proud of their 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaugther. Her sister, Alicejean Butts from Yucca Valley, California and her brother, William Louis (Cherrie) Atkins of Chattanooga, Tennessee are her surviving siblings. Her parents and brother,
Robert Lee Atkins have gone before her.
She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid and accomplished knitter. She shared her talents with family and friends. Her works were often awarded and displayed at the county fair. She was adventurous and loved to travel. She was always a active participant in the many business ventures owned
by the family. She had the privilege of serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with her husband to England and loved serving in the Logan Temple.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 on Thursday September 28, 2006 at the Nibley LDS Chapel on 3200 South. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
