Connie Lynne Hogan

Connie Lynne Hogan died suddenly at her home in Logan Wednesday November 9, 2011. She was born to Jay E. and Joyce A. (Cluanch) Morgan on June 4, 1965 in Alamosa, Colorado.

Connie grew up the youngest of five children in the beautiful San Luis Valley, where she attended school and eventually graduated from Centauri High School in La Jara Colorado. Education was always important to her, so after graduating High School Connie attended Ricks College earning her Associates Degree.

Connie had completed part of her educational pursuits when she decided to follow another passion, serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Connie submitted her papers and eventually accepted a call to serve in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Mission, which also included her home town, from 1986 through 1987.

After a successful missionary experience, she recommitted herself to her educational goals. She enrolled at Brigham Young University where she was met with several challenges, but overcame them all, walking away with her highest degree, her “Mrs.” Connie met Tom Hogan, a city boy from California, and became instant friends. They laughed together, played together, and then decided theirs was a budding romance, they were married six months later on July 19, 1991.

As important as education and missionary service was to Connie, her grandest ambition in life was to be a Wife and Mother. Connie was blessed with six wonderful children who she adored, Daniel Jay, Jacob Parker, Matthew Thomas, Zachary Travis, Sarah Lynne, and Caleb Nicholas. They were her everything. As a mother, her natural talents shown through, reading with, playing with, chauffeuring, praising their successes, easing their troubles, and providing safety from a sometimes crazy world. She became active in scouting because of her sons, serving as a Bear Leader to her ward pack for the last seven years. At the same time Connie found “Princess” time with her daughter, crafting, sewing, and painting nails.

Connie is survived by her Husband Tom, and Children Daniel, Jacob, Matthew, Zachary, Sarah, and Caleb. Her Parents Joyce and Hoyt Williams; Brother Hugh (Luana); Sisters Lorna (George) Shaw, Shannon (Rolan) Robison, and Julie (Gary) Child. Her In-Laws Dan and Raylene Hogan, Micheal (Kori), Joseph (Melissa), Liz (Jim) Roy, and Rebecca (David) Boyajian. She also survived by 38 nieces and nephews, and 41 great-nieces and nephews.
