Courtney Jones

Paradise, Utah: Courtney “Oney” Jones, 69, went on his last horse ride in the mountains on opening day of the elk hunt. He passed away peacefully in his home after a long battle with cancer on October 6, 2012.
Courtney was born on September 27, 1943 in Logan, Utah to Duane and Phoebe Jones. He attended Cache County Schools. He was a plumbers assistant for Gerald Haviland, an insurance salesman in Grand Junction, Colorado. Later, he worked for Weathershield, where he retired from. Courtney was also the Bridgerland High School Rodeo Club Advisor for over 30 years. A position he loved and put his whole heart in to.
Courtney had a love for family, children, his horses and the mountains. He was married to Marie Nickolaisen and they later divorced. He met Loni Maughan Easley, his “Hunny Bee” while working at Weather Shield. They were married on September 22, 2007 in Newton, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity on November 19, 2011 in the Logan Temple.
He is survived by his wife Loni, his brother, Max R. (Judy) Jones and a sister, Reta (Cordell) Pulsipher, and his brothers-in-law, Reed Glenn and Osmer Baker. He is also survived by Loni’s children, Nicholas, Jonathan, Lacie and Payden Easley, and Loni’s parents, Mike and Sharron Maughan and grandchildren. Also several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glade and Linda Jones, sisters, LaDeane Glenn and Gayle Baker.
