Coy Baldwin Hall Eliason age 91, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday morning December 8, 2013 following complications of a stroke a week earlier. She was born July 15, 1922 in Wellsville, Utah to William Poppleton and Alda Albretsen Baldwin. Coy had two younger siblings, Shirley (Darley) and Bart Baldwin who preceded her in death.
Coy lived in Wellsville most of her life. She attended South Cache High School. She met the love of her life, Grant Hill Hall while attending a church dance. They were married in the Logan Temple on September 27, 1939. Early in their marriage they built a home in Wellsville, which she still owns. They were blessed with one son and four daughters.
During her life she was employed at J.C. Penny’s, Bernina Stylish Fabric, and the U.S. Post Office located on Utah State University campus. Coy had a strong work ethic and encouraged her children to get an education. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers (Daniel H. Wells Camp) and the Wellsville Jr. Literary Club.
Coy was an excellent seamstress and made most of her children’s clothes. She enjoyed doing handwork until she was age 90. Coy loved gardening, crocheting, and making quilts and afghans for her children and grandchildren.
During all of her life Coy was active in the LDS. She served in many callings including Relief Society President, and she was a devoted choir member. Coy enjoyed going to the temple with her friends each week. She wanted her children and grandchildren to receive the blessings of the temple. Grant passed away on January 25, 1978. Later Coy married Ray Eliason from Malad, Idaho. He died January 12, 1999.
Coy is survived by her children: Karen (Ronald) Reese, Blackfoot, Idaho, Kathleen (William) Richardson of Beaverton, Oregon, Bradford (Valorie) Hall of Wellsville, Utah, Kristen (Lee) Karren of Logan, Utah, Lori (Dennis) Godderidge of Farmington, Utah, sisters-in law: Marilyn Hall, Florence Hall, and Marlene Baldwin, and brother-in-law Blaine (Carol) Hall. The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Care for the tender, loving care that they gave to Coy. She looked forward to the weekly visits with Norma, a volunteer. We would also like to thank Dr. Vera Carlson for taking such good care of Coy.
