Dale Humphreys

June 28, 1938 — February 20, 2011

MILLVILLE, UTAH: Dale Cleon Humphreys Millville, Utah a beloved son, husband, father, brother, grandpa, valiant servant of God and man, returned home to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on a beautiful Sabbath morning, February 20, 2011, surrounded by the vigilant love and care of his family.
Dale was born on June 28, 1938 in Logan Utah to Cleon Orvan and Leah Jane Jorgensen Humphreys. He has four brothers and three Sisters. He attended school in Millville and graduated from South Cache High School with the class of 1956. After graduating he served in the South Australian LDS Mission from 1958 to 1960. He attended USU studying food science. On November 21, 1962 he was sealed to his eternal companion, Karen Christie McFarland in the Logan, LDS Temple.
In 1966 Dale began his career at Gossner Foods, as head cheese maker. At the time of death he was still working there as a consultant. In the course of his career, he made many friends, and has had many special relationships around the world. He worked at Gossners for 45 devoted years.
He instilled in his children the love for God’s creations. Many unforgettable memories were made, at the Humphreys family property, above Hardware Ranch. He had a knack for cowboy poetry and had a keen sense of humor.
He taught his children the gospel, by word and by example. He served in many church callings, throughout his life including Bishop, devoted home teacher and at the time of death he was serving as Stake Patriarch in the University YSA third Stake. He served as Mayor of Millville City and on various committees.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leah and Cleon Humphreys; Sister, Marise Nordick and his infant brother Orvan.
He is survived by his wife, Christie; His children, Lorin (Kari) of Boise, Eric (Teena) of Amalga, Wayne (Julie) of Townsend, Montana, Heidi Bentley (Nathan) of Boise, Tina Howard (Tim) of Brigham City and Amber Hansen (Tim) of Logan, foster daughter, Rehaleah Toledo (Travis) of Albuquerque; siblings; Janet Bankhead (Gerald, deceased) of Malta, Idaho, JC (Lamay) of Tabiona, Utah, Bob (Donna Jean) of Millville, currently serving an LDS mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, Lynette (Jack, deceased) of Logan, Kevin (Lorie) Millville, 37 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
The Humphreys family would like to thank the various medical professionals at the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Logan Regional Hospital and Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation for the tender care and compassion which they have given to Dale throughout his complicated illness. We also wish to thank friends, neighbors and acquaintances who have given condolences in body and in spirit.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Huntsman Cancer Medical Center or the LDS Perpetual Education fund.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Providence South Stake Center in Millville, 360 East 450 North, Millville. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery.
