Dale Theron Smith passed away September 4, 2022 in his home in River Heights surrounded by his family.
Dale was born on 6 Nov. 1942, the youngest of five children, to Joseph Rogers and Signe Evelyn Smith in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City and he later attended Weber State College in Ogden.
Dale served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Scottish/Irish Mission. He was drafted in the Army right after his mission, and was happy to serve his country.
He married Jerrilyn Coleman on June 20, 1966. They had 4 children together, Michael (Jay), SherriLee (Douglas), Craig (Margaret), and Andrea, they later divorced.
Dale married Carol Howells in Roy, Utah on September 25, 1993. Carol had 3 children Trent (Lisa), Clint (Jaime), Lacie (Jory). He loved his wife Carol very much, and the adventures they had together. Many of their best memories were shared with their children. He had 25 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren whom he adored.
Dale enjoyed serving others. Later in life he worked as a missionary in the Bishops Storehouse. He loved working on and wrecking his cars. He loved camping, spending time outdoors with his family, shooting guns, and 4 wheeling in his truck. He also loved getting under the hood of a car and fixing it, especially with his children and grandchildren. He said, 'I always had to work very hard for what I got. I'm not a quitter, I will keep working as long as I can." Dale endured faithfully until the end, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held on September 24, 2022 from 2-4PM at the Church located at 800 south 600 east River Heights, Utah 84321
