Daniel Steiner Jensen passed away with his family by his side on the morning of March 26th 2025. Dan was born on January 26th, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT the son of Charles Arnold Jensen and Katherine Delores Hayward. Dan was born and raised in Salt Lake City and attended Bountiful High School, after High School he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard where he served in various posts along the West Coast. He married Judy Behling on April 30th 1965 their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Dan started working in the grocery business at age 13 eventually ending up in Logan, UT as the manager of Safeway. Once he left Safeway he joined the Logan City Police Department where he retired after 24 Years. Dan was never able to give up his passion for the grocery business as he continued to work for Lee’s Market Place until his retirement in 2010.
Throughout his life Dan was active in Western Boys Baseball Association, where he coached for several years, served on the national Board of Directors and as President of the Association. Dan was also active in the Smithfield Lions Club and Meals on Wheels program. Dan’s greatest joy in life came from spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at his home in Logan.
Dan is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Dana Downs (Ted), son Chad Jensen (Heather), son Brett Jensen (Jennifer) and step daughter Heidi Mower (Chad). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren with 4 more on the way.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Lynn Jensen (Beulah).
A public viewing will be held Sunday evening March 30, 2025 from 6-8 PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 E. Center St. Logan. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
