Darlene Taylor, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend and teacher, passed away unexpectedly on May
18,2013, preceding her mother in death by less than a week. Darlene was born in Logan, Utah on June
6,1947, the oldest daughter of Jaleen Savage and Arnold Taylor.
Her life's work was as a teacher, having taught and inspired nearly a thousand Kindergarten through
ninth grade students in the Granite School District over 38 years. She graduated from Utah State
University in Elementary Education. Active in various student groups, she was a member of AOPi
Sorority. Darlene also loved painting, cross-stitch, reading, and attending musicals and plays.
She was the loving "mother" to her cat Soot and caring aunt to 9 nieces and nephews and 21 great
nieces and nephews. The great nieces and nephews loved to feed the ducks whenever they came to
visit. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Darlene is survived by her sister, Linda Stander (J.R.); and brother, Doug Taylor. She is preceded in death
by her father, Arnold and sister, Karen.
Funeral services for both Darlene and her mother will be May 31, at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center
Street, Logan, Utah. The viewing will be from llam-1pm, memorial services at 1pm, followed by
interment at Logan Cemetery. A memorial service will also be held from 5-7pm on May 30, at the
Barrington Park gazebo, 1300 W. 4200 S., Salt Lake City.
