David Devar Balls

David D. Balls
David DeVar Balls 65, passed away on October 14th, 2013. He was born on February 13th, 1948 in Logan, UT, a son of Devar and Zona Chugg Balls, of Benson, Utah. He married Vonna Mecham in 1970. Together they had one son, Ryan David Balls. They later divorced. He then married Pamela Gaye Fowler in 1975. They adopted a daughter, Kiley Lee from Korea. They were later divorced.
He graduated from the first graduating class of Sky View High School, Smithfield, UT, in 1966. He worked in the Salt Lake City, UT area in the construction and framing business. He was an estimator for building trusses. He later transferred to Las Vegas, NV, and continued to work in the construction business.
David was an avid Sail Boat enthusiast. He lived to Sailboat. You could find him anywhere from Bear Lake, UT to the California Coast, sailing and racing his Hobie Cat Sail Boat. Lake Mead was his favorite place to sail because he could get there fast after work or on weekends. He also loved skiing, both snow and water.
He is survived by his daughter Kiley Lee, New York, NY, sister Marilyn Briggs, Pleasant View, UT, brother Craig Balls (Jodene), River Heights, UT. He has 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Ryan and both parents.
A viewing will be held Saturday, October 19th at the Allen Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, No Logan, UT, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. A grave side service will be held in the Hyde Park Cemetery, UT at 12:00 noon.
The family would like to extend their thanks to his loving sister Marilyn for the kind and gracious care she has given David for the last 6 years.
