David Charles Kimball

November 22, 1932 — April 2, 2015

Smithfield - On Thursday April 2, 2015, David Charles Kimball passed away peacefully into the loving arms of his savior with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his side.
He was born Nov. 22, 1932 to Leonard David Kimball and Delma Jensen Kimball in Hyde Park, Utah and attended school in the Cache Valley area. As a young man David worked at the Logan Golf and Country Club, road construction with his father, Beaver Mountain Ski Patrol, Niederhauser Construction and many other odd jobs before enlisting in the army during the Korean War where he served in a tank battalion in occupied Germany with great pride from Feb. 18, 1953 - Feb. 16, 1955.
After he was honorably discharged he started his lifelong career as a union pipefitter-welder where he worked all over the United States and Africa while earning the respect of many co workers. In December of 1956, David rekindled a relationship with the love of his life Patricia Beth Noble, they were married on Aug. 2, 1957, later sealed in the Logan Temple on Sept. 11, 1958, and soon after were blessed with five wonderful children. Teresa (Mark) Donaldson, Kirk (Madeleyne) Kimball, Shelly (Mike) Stroh, Kasey (Adriana) Kimball, and Mandy (Derik) Rogers, he is also survived by seventeen grandchildren: Logan, Zhanna, Kyle, Nadene, Spencer, Sonia, Allison, Nathaniel, Angie, Jared, Alexander, Hannah, Chance, Sammy, Courtney, Braxton, Skyah + one on the way. His family was his life.
David enjoyed serving his church as a scoutmaster and his community as a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion, he was involved in the founding of the Cache Valley Antique Auto Club. David was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, trapping, hiking, and skiing, he also loved his farm ground and driving his tractor.
David is survived by his wife and his children, brother Lee Kimball, and Sister Joyce Jackson. Preceded in death by Parents: Leonard and Delma, Brothers: LaFell, Golden, Delmer, and sister Erma.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jim and the staff at Logan Dialysis Unit for their kindness and special care, Cache Valley Wound Clinic and the many other doctors and nurses that cared for his medical needs especially Lisa from Home Health Care and Hospice.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday April 9, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Church in Amalga at 6521 N 2400 W. A viewing will be held on Wednesday April 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street in Logan UT, and prior to services in Amalga from 10-11:30 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
