David L. McArthur 83 of Smithfield, passed away March 20, 2015. He was born February 11, 1932 to Stephen L. McArthur and Lulu (Corbridge) McArthur.
He served in the U.S. Navy four years from May 1951 to Apr 1955. David married Helen Willison in 1957 they had three children together and later divorced.
He then married DeAnn Gittins on May 12, 1978 in Hyde Park and three years later they were sealed on their anniversary in the Logan LDS Temple. David worked for Hill Field Air force Base throughout his career in Production Control as Scheduler.
He had a love and passion for being a part of horse racing throughout his life. He loved his children and his five grandchildren.He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his three children Lesa (Bill) Keffeler, Julie Branca (Preston), Jeff (Lisa) McArthur.Four granddaughters and one grandson. And one brother and two sisters.
David was preceded by death by his wife DeAnn Gittins McArthur, he’s parents and sister Mary Ann McArthur.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, March 26 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the day of funeral.
