David Holdaway Morrill passed away peacefully at his home on November 15th, 2022. David was born on June 3rd, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Reed Sutton Morrill and Joanne Holdaway.
David’s grade school years were spent in Provo, Utah. His family moved to Logan in 1970 when his father pursued finishing a doctorate at Utah State University. He graduated from Logan High School in 1979. He served an honorable full time mission to Tempe, Arizona from 1981-1983. He loved missionary work and served with a valiant heart.
Upon his return from the mission field he enrolled at Utah State University, graduating with a BS degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations. He would later finish a MS degree in Human Resources.
David was married and sealed to Judy Burton in the Logan LDS Temple in 1984. Sometime later they moved to Riverton, Utah where he worked as lead manager at Discover Card for several years. Eventually they moved back to Cache Valley in 1999, where he established Logan Insurance Agency. He loved this time in forming genuine relationships with clients over the years.
He suffered from chronic illness his entire adult life and endured multiple painful surgeries. Despite this fact, his last surgery in May 2020 allowed his neck the freedom of being able to look up for the first time in decades.
David was an avid sports fan, and especially loved golf, football, and basketball. He would rarely miss the opportunity to watch a Jazz or Aggie game, regardless of their season record.
David was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as Scoutmaster, Elders Quorum President, and Stake Auditor throughout the years. He loved listening to the Tabernacle Choir sing the beautiful hymns of the Restoration.
David is survived by his spouse Judy, and their two sons, Samuel and Jacob. He is also survived by his siblings Lelan Daines (Pat Wyche), Andrew Morrill, Melanie (Jim) Snyder, Miriam (Jeff) Rich, and twin brother Michael (Sarah) Morrill. His parents and brother Eric precede him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26th, 2022 in the 10th Ward Chapel (792 North 500 East) at 12:00 PM in Logan.
