David Clark Rigby

May 30, 1938 — August 22, 2023

Richmond, Utah

Our beloved David Clark Rigby returned to his Heavenly Father on August 22, 2023, at the age of 85.  He was born on May 30, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Opal Turner and Clark Price Rigby.  He was the caring oldest brother to siblings Gregg, Jo Ann, and Jeanie.

He spent his early life in Richmond, Utah, farming with his family, leading to many adventures – which he loved to share as joyful stories throughout his life.

After graduating from North Cache High School, he was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Argentina Mission.

When David returned from Argentina, he met and married Emma Pecollo.  They were married for 17 happy years, and had a daughter, Ana Maria. David attended barber school, so he could work alongside Emma, who was a talented beautician.  Sadly, Emma lost her life after a battle with a brain tumor.

David met RaeDell Stevens, at the Richmond library, where she worked as a creative town librarian.  The fact that she had six children did not deter him from falling in love with his “brown-eyed beauty”.  They married on December 19, 1980.  Together they raised 7 children: Lori, David, Pamela, Richard, Marsha, Ana, and Christy.

He had many careers throughout his life, the majority being in the automotive industry, as a Parts Manager for Volkswagen and Chrysler Dodge.  He was always hard working and dedicated in all his jobs, but one of his favorite work experiences was sharing his love of the Spanish language with the children in the Head Start program.

David was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  His love for the Lord was evident, as he served faithfully throughout his life.

He will be remembered for his ability to fix anything, his skills with all types of woodworking, his joy of riding his John Deere on a sunny day, his pure enjoyment of hanging out in his shop doing projects for his sweetheart, his love of hats, and enjoying a daily Pepsi.

But what he loved the most was his family!  His children: Michael Johnson (deceased), Lori Vincere, David Johnson, Pam (Daniel) DeCoopman, Richard (Heather) Johnson, Marsha (Doug) Taylor, Ana Maria (Kevin) Tueller, Christy Gibbs.  His siblings: Gregg (Suzanne) Rigby, Jo Ann (Max; deceased) Reid, Jeanie Rigby.  And his 16 Grandchildren and his 11 Great-grandchildren.

He was loved deeply and will be dearly missed.

Viewing and funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 150 South 100 West, Richmond, Utah, 84333.  Viewing at 9:30am.  Funeral Service at 11am.  Interment will be at the Providence Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Memories and condolences may be shared and expressed at www.allenmortuaries.com
