David A. Hellquist of Paradise, Utah passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at the age of 66 at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah from complications of cancer. Dave was born on January 1, the New Years baby of 1940, in his home town of Thief River Falls, Minnesota to Clara and Alex Hellquist. He graduated from Hemet High school in California in 1958, and went on to join the Air Force, where he served as a nuclear weapons instructor. During this time he married his first wife, Barbara, and was blessed with two sons and a daughter. In 1984 he married Marsha Blake and was further blessed with two additional daughters. In 2000 the family moved to Paradise, Utah. Throughout his life he was a hard worker and liked working with people in the retail industry, and continued to work at Lowes after retirement. He also loved watching sports, especially football, and reading. Family was important to Dave; he tried to attend every important event in the lives of family members.
Dave is survived by his wife Marsha and daughters Britta and Alanna of Paradise, Utah; son Dale and wife Terrie; son Scott; and daughter Julie and husband Paul Dinsdale, and grandchildren: Anna and Matthew Hellquist, Ryan Hellquist, and Nicole, Eric and Heather Dinsdale, all of Benicia, California. He was preceded in death by both parents, his older brother Bob, as well as his first wife Barbara.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan Utah. Friends may call from 6-8 pm, on Wednesday January 3 and from 12:30 pm prior to the services on Thursday.
