In memory of David Owen Crapo
David Owen Crapo was born in Logan, Utah, on November 24th, 1970, to Richley and Irma Crapo. He died on May 18th, 2010 in Layton.
David grew up in Logan, Utah, but moved to the Salt Lake City area after graduating with honors from Sky View High School in 1989. He loved to participate in motocross and was a skilled rider, winning many trophies. His profession also centered around motocross and selling sports equipment. He began flying lessons in 2009 and was recently certified to fly solo. He had a special relationship with his paternal grandfather, Leonard Crapo, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joachim Felix von Amsberg and Elfriede Nielsen.
David will be missed by his many family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Chloe Crapo of Bountiful, Utah. He is survived and missed by his father and stepmother, Richley and Sharon Crapo of Providence, Utah; his mother and stepfather, Irma and Paul Daleen of Tallahassee, Florida; sister Shannon (Colin) George of Mendon; brother Stephen Crapo of Columbus, Georgia; sister Rhondda Cannon of North Ogden; sister Torrie Crapo and brother Andrew Crapo, both of Providence; his beloved paternal grandmother, Ardys Crapo, and his paternal aunt and uncle, Roberta (Max) Bunn of North Logan. He is missed by many other relatives who are too numerous to name. David had many close friends that he considered to be family that will miss him as well.
A memorial to David's life will be held on Tuesday, May 25th at 2 PM at St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 85 East 100 North in Logan, Utah. A private graveside service will follow. Friends are also welcome to visit David's family at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, located at 420 East 1800 North, on Monday, May 24th between 6 and 8 PM.
