Dawna Dunn Brower of Hyrum passed away in Soda Springs, Idaho on Saturday, July 22, 2017.
The oldest of three children, she was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on November 17, 1933, to John Owen and Eva Mae Beus Butterfield. She grew up and graduated in Soda Springs. She married Richard Dale Dunn on April 18, 1952. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. Their children and spouses are Richard and Barbara Dunn, Donny (deceased) and Dorene Dunn, and Janalee and Christian Thurell. She has seven grandchildren (one deceased) and seven great-grandchildren.
They owned and operated D&D Drive Inn in Soda Springs. They moved to Morgan in 1971, where she resided until his death in 1994. They were married for 43 years. His occupation allowed them to travel throughout the world. They also enjoyed raising horses, golfing, skiing (she taught all her grandchildren to ski), camping, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing.
She later married Ralph Brower on April 7, 1995. She added to her family his five children, spouses and extended family: Janice and Monte Rogers, Dee Ann Brower, Kathy and Marv Applonie, Clint and Kristy Brower, Kristine Brower, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed the outdoors and walking (and snow shoeing around Hyrum Dam), golfing and quilting. A member of the LDS Church, she held many positions. One of her favorite things to do was “extracting,” now known as indexing.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 28, from 6-8PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 29, at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs, Idaho beginning at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers please donate to the LDS Mission Fund.
