Deanna P. Edwards

May 26, 1943 — December 29, 2010

LOGAN, UTAH - Deanna Pratt Edwards passed away at home in the arms of her beloved husband December 29, 2010. She was born May 26, 1943 to Stanley Wallace Pratt and Agnes Josephine Berg in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Logan High School in 1961 where she participated extensively in music and theatre. She and her husband Clifford Edwards first became acquainted on a hike on the Old Juniper trail in Logan Canyon. Love blossomed immediately. They were married a year later, June 28, 1963 in the Logan Temple.
Deanna was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was routinely involved with music and teaching. While in Illinois she became closely associated with Elizabeth Kubler Ross an expert on Death and Dying. This initiated a life long mission to help the sick and bereaved. In this process she gave workshops to medical professionals all over the United States and Canada as well as in several other foreign countries including New Zealand, Germany, and South Africa.
Deanna composed and recorded numerous songs that were designed to help those who had lost loved ones. Much of her music was designed to give special insights regarding living with greater hope and fulfillment. She created eight albums of her music along with publishing three books.
Deanna is particularly noted for stepping in and giving needed assistance to those who have lost loved ones. In particular she assisted parents whose sons were killed while serving church missions. Many times she has helped those who had lost a beloved child. The legacy she leaves behind is a noble and far reaching one. Literally thousands have been enormously blessed by her work. She was also particularly devoted to and proud her family and helped to fill them all with love.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford, of 47 years. The love between them had become as deep as eternity. She is also survived by her children: Shon (Roya) of Layton, Steven of Draper, Jeffrey (Laurie) of Springville, and Eric of Logan; and 9 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Agnes Pratt, a sister Miriam and a brother David.
