LOGAN, UTAH: Deborah Kay O’Dell was born January 18, 1951, in Bakersfield, California to Leslie Marvin O’Dell and Mary Charlotte (Robertson) O’Dell. She passed away peacefully at her home in Logan, Utah on December 28, 2011 at the age of sixty.
Deb moved to Oregon in 1961, and then to Utah in 1974. She served a mission in Toronto, Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the late 1970’s. Following her mission Deb returned to Utah where she attended University of Utah and graduated with a Masters Degree in Social Work. Upon completion of her degree Deb spent her life working with and for people with disabilities.
Deb was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in a variety of positions. She enjoyed the fine arts and traveling. Deb would often share her talent of playing the guitar and singing with family. Deb was especially known for her ability to nurture relationships and keep family members connected.
Deb is survived by her sisters Linda Gailey of Pendleton, Oregon and Leslie Namitz of Lyons, Oregon, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Lyle O’Dell, sister Donna Lea and nephew Cristen O’Dell.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 350 W. 700 S. Logan, Utah. A family burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Providence, Utah.
