Delano (Dell) Hunsaker

Delano (Dell) Hunsaker, age 81, went to sleep with his family by his side on Friday afternoon, September 19, 2014.
He was born March 4, 1935 to T. Earl and Laura H. Hunsaker as, his namesake, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was being inaugurated the 32nd President of the United States. He was the 5th of 6 children. He attended Logan City schools and served in the Army during the Korean War.
He married Marion Gibbons on August 12, 1955. They are the parents of 8 children, 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He worked for 30 years as a painter in the Maintenance Department at USU.
He was a member of the LDS Church, residing in the Logan 14th Ward for over 50 years. He had many opportunities to serve, enjoying his experiences with scouting and the youth especially. He served a mission with his wife Marion in Tuba City, Arizona. He enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing but his greatest love was his family.
Dell is survived by his wife Marion Gibbons Hunsaker of Logan UT, his children; Deon (Mary Kay) Hunsaker of Smithfield UT, Donna Bennett of Logan UT, Debbie Roper of Salt Lake City UT, Daniel (Jay Martin) Hunsaker of Avon CO, Darcie (Robert) Jensen of Preston ID, Denise (Bret) Lott of Logan UT, Darren Hunsaker of Logan UT and Daughter-in-Law Julie Hunsaker of Smithfield UT. He is also survived by sisters Marie Barrett of North Ogden UT and Denise Petersen of Bountiful UT and brother Robert (Elaine) Hunsaker of Kaysville UT.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, sister Merle Williams, brother Thomas Earl Hunsaker and son Douglas Earl Hunsaker.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in the Logan 14th Ward Church, 94 West 600 South Logan Utah. A viewing will be held that morning at the church from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery followed by a luncheon for family and friends at his home.
