Delene Christensen Ward

Logan - DeLene C. Henrie Ward passed away April 8, 2016 at Cache Valley Assisted Living Center.
DeLene was born on July 27, 1932 to Ruel A. and Dora Elsie Bloxham Christensen in Downey , Idaho. She spent her growing up years in Arimo, Idaho. Her family moved to Logan, Utah just prior to her senior year of high school. She graduated from Logan High. She attended Utah Agricultural College for two years before marrying Argyle Henrie in 1951.
DeLene and Argyle later settled in Ventura California where she completed getting her Bachelors of Education at Ventura Community College. Both DeLene and Argyle loved to teach. Argyle passed away in 1977. The next year DeLene and her daughters, Karen and Kim, moved to Logan.
After returning to Utah, DeLene returned to school at Utah State University where she obtained her Bachelors of Social Work. She also obtained her Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah. DeLene enjoyed working at Sunshine Terrace for 18 years. In 1987 DeLene married Reese Ward and they spent many enjoyable years together.
DeLene was a voracious reader, many times reading several books at a time. She also enjoyed music and shared her talent on many occasions. She loved to sing, played the piano and guitar. She also enjoyed attending the opera, gardening and walking in nature. DeLene loved living in Cache Valley and having the mountains around her.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her two husbands. She is survived by her two daughters Karen Cassity (Tim) and Kim Bassett (Tony), 8 grand children, 3 great grand children; 4 step children, Movell Ward (Barbara), Karen Duersch (Willy), Lori Moore (Doug), and Tyler, with numerous step-grand children and great grand children
There will be no viewing. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, April 16, 20016 at the Mount Logan Stake Center, 565 East 100 South, Logan, Utah. Funeral directors are Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.allenmortuaries.net
