Millville – DelMar Anderson, 73, passed away on January 25, 2017, due to complications from cancer. He was born on November 11, 1943, in Logan, Utah, to Lewis C. and Olla J. Anderson. He attended grade school in Millville, and graduated from South Cache High School in 1962.
He served in the Western States mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1962 to 1964. Dad rode a train to his mission and due to health issues, he had to fly home at the end of his mission. He always said that while they were in the air, he looked out the window of the airplane and the thumpin’ wing was moving up and down about 18 inches. He promised The Lord that if he got back on the ground, he would never get off again.
He married Karla V. Olson, his bean-picking buddy, on November 16, 1965, in the Logan LDS Temple.
He worked at Moore Business Forms for 34 years, and then various jobs after, such as Macey’s, Lee’s Marketplace, and IHC Home Healthcare in order to stay out of mom’s hair. He made many friends every place he went.
He had a desire to own a herd of cows, and began the Flying “A” Dairy in 1982. He milked cows for 12 years “as a hobby”.
He served in various callings in the LDS Church, including Bishop of the Millville First Ward. Following that, he served as an officiator in the Logan LDS Temple before being diagnosed with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Karla, of 51 years; their children, Wade (Leslie), Millville; Kim (Grant), Millville; Jenny (Jon), Wellsville; and Chad (Risa), West Jordan; 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild due in May. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry (Vicki), of Homedale, ID; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Olla; his sister and brother-in-law, Utona and Dan Berry; sister, Paula Anderson; and in-laws, Ralph and Verla Olson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017, at noon, at the Providence South Stake Center, 360 E. 450 N., Millville, UT, with Bishop Mark Hadfield conducting. There will be a viewing held at the Stake Center on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday, January 30, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery.
