Delores June Barkdull Poppleton, 75, passed away January 27, 2018 in Providence, UT after a long battle of Parkinsons and dementia. She was born February 1, 1942 in Preston, ID to LeRoy Edward Barkdull and June Elvira Morgan. She was the oldest of five children.
She married S. Harvey Fowler and together they had three daughters. They later divorced. She eventually found her eternal companion, Clyde Fletcher Poppleton, and they were married on March 29, 2001 in the Ogden, UT Temple for time. They were later sealed in the Logan, UT Temple on September 9, 2011.
Her greatest love was her family in which she spent many years working on family history and temple work for which her family is most grateful. She also loved the great outdoors. She loved gardening, canning, hiking, walking, fishing, camping, bird watching, competition shooting. She painted, sewed, and did many crafts for her family and friends. She even learned to tat from her husband and loved to travel to new places with him and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; three daughters, Deborah F. Jones, Kristine F.(Dean) Shields, Marie F. (Loren) Taylor; step-son, Joel M. Poppleton, four siblings, LeRoy W. (Karen), Arlo W. (Judy), Rick E. (Lisa) Barkdull, Deena (Roberto) Segovia, and 9 grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by both parents.
On behalf of the family, they wish to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Cache Valley Assisted Living Center administration and all aides that assisted in helping with her care, and to Encompass Hospice nurses and administration for all the dedicated care administered to her and the family.
Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary and a viewing will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 34 E Center St, Logan, UT from 6-8pm. Services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at noon in the Providence 4th Ward Church located at 155 N 100 E Providence, UT. Friends and family may call from 10:30-11:30 prior to services. Interment will be at the Clarkston City Cemetery.
