Dennis Earl Craghead

June 5, 1933 — March 1, 2025

Logan

*NOTE DATE CHANGE OF FUNERAL TO MONDAY, MARCH 17TH at 10:30 AM*

Dennis Earl Craghead, 91, left his earthly home on March 1st, 2025, to be reunited with his sweetheart Lois.

Dennis was born June 5, 1933, in Brigham City, UT to William and Urania Craghead. He was raised in Brigham City but eventually found his way over the mountain to Logan to date and eventually marry his beautiful bride, Lois in the Logan LDS Temple on February 28th, 1952. Soon after marriage, he was drafted into active military service which took Dennis and Lois to Fort Lewis, Washington. Dennis honorably served in the United States Army and was awarded a National Defense Service Medal related to his service.

The legacy of Dennis continues with his 3 surviving children, Sandy (Darrell Corbridge), Jim, and Todd (Lori), as well as his 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Dennis loved to share his wide array of talents with every member of the family. He showed amazing confidence when called upon to repair, build, or design things. He used his unique talents to remodel and expand the home he built and lived in for most of his life to meet the demands of his growing family.

Dennis was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, always ready to serve those in his neighborhood and congregation. Most of his days were spent in the Logan 17th ward where he always served faithfully in the many callings that he had.

One of his favorite places was “the shop”. He’d go there to tinker around on all kinds of things, like working on restoring his old truck. For years he grew one of the finest gardens which included rows of raspberries that he and Lois turned into the best tasting freezer jam you could ever lay your hands on. He also loved growing pumpkins of every shape and size that he happily shared when Halloween time came around.

Dennis loved the great outdoors. He would often grab his fishing pole and one of his grandkids to head off to one of his favorite fishing holes. When the fish weren’t biting, he could be found hiking in the mountains searching for gold or hunting deer and elk. Dennis loved his family and would often reply jokingly when someone said I love you, with “I love me too”.

Dennis was a self-trained manufacturing engineer first working for Anderson Coach which gave him the experience needed to run a small side business building custom camper shells. Most of his career was spent working for Thiokol’s snowcat manufacturing business, earning a patent in 1993 related to a key component used in the manufacturing of snow groomers that are often seen grooming the ski slopes. He retired from his work there after many years of dedicated service.

Dennis was proceeded in death by his wife Lois Jean Crockett Craghead, father William Henry Craghead, mother Urania Celestria Gertrude Peterson Craghead, 5 brothers William, Robert, Dean, Levan, Leroy, and 4 sisters Marie, Theola, Maxine, and Rita Mae.
