Dennison L. Taylor

HYDE PARK, UTAH - Dennison Lee (Denny) Taylor, 74, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2009 at his home in Hyde Park. Denny was born October 2, 1934 in Santa Monica, California to Pearl Elizabeth Gill and Ernest Holmes Taylor. Denny was the third of five children.
Denny attended school in Santa Monica, Venice, and Blythe, California. He graduated from Palo Verde Valley High School as class salutatorian in 1952. Denny graduated from Santa Monica City College in electronics and was hired by Cornell-Dubilier, an electronic company, where he worked on the prototype for the first electronic filter and later became a supervisor. He was with this company for 16 years.
He met, courted, and married Sally Lou Wilson mother of a 10 year daughter, on July 3, 1970 in Manhattan Beach, California. Their marriage was solemnized a year later in the Los Angeles temple. They have one daughter, Karen Sue Corrales (Frank) of Port Orford, OR, and one son, Jeremy Paul Taylor (Klarissa) of Hyde Park.
Denny, Sally and their daughter Karen moved to Logan in 1971 and enjoyed 2 years in the 13th ward then built a home in Hyde Park where Denny and Sally have lived happily since 1973. Denny started working at the USU Printing Services in 1972 and was there for 26 years until health problems forced an early retirement in 1998. Denny passed away from complications of 55 years of diabetes.
Denny was a lifelong and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings including; a stake mission, finance clerk for 12 years, a member of the Sunday school presidency. He served in the elder's quorum presidency, high priest group leadership twice, and was high priest group leader.
Dennison is survived by his wife of 38 years, his daughter and son; a sister, Marjorie Helen Jensen (Jack) of Providence, UT and brother, Donald Gill Taylor (Joann) of Palmyra, N.Y. (currently serving a mission in Van Couver, WA); a Brother-in-law, Phillip E. Cardon (Bonna Lu), and brother-in-law Donald Grant Wilson (Gwendolyn) of Sedalia, Mo. He has four living grandchildren; Brian Frank Corrales (Helena) of Sandy, UT., Kimberly Sue Bailey (Aaron) of Portland, OR, and Antoni J. and Kirsti AnneTaylor of Hyde Park. He has one great grandson, Eli Frank Corrales of Sandy.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William Ernest Taylor, a sister Ruth Elizabeth Cardon, and a grandson Brendon Alexander Taylor.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Thomas Clark and staff, Alpine Hospice nurses and staff, and Dr. Michael Stones and others who participated in Denny's care over the past many years.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 5 at the Hyde Park Chapel, 33 East Center in Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday, March 4 at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan and from 11:30-12:30 PM on Thursday prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Hyde Park City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be extended to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
