DeVerl (Rex) Archibald Hoskin died June 17, 2012 at 7:15 PM at the Sunshine Terrace Care Facility surrounded by friends and family.
DeVerl was the first born of Leslie and Nora Hoskin in Wellsville, Utah on Jan. 23, 1929, a place he loved until his death.
DeVerl is survived by his wife Dorothea whom he married on Oct. 8, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. DeVerl and Dorothea had 6 children, Linda Tartaglia, Patricia Faulkner, Judith Saige, Cheryl Hill, Darlene Hoskin, and Ronald Hoskin who died at age 18.
DeVerl had five sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by Bette Horne, Gloria Motes and Richard Hoskin. Surviving him are Sherma Brown and Elaine Bright. DeVerl is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
DeVerl had many jobs in his lifetime; military policeman, postman, and maintenance at Utah State University to mention a few. However the job he loved the most was his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
DeVerl began his ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1947 and was proud to have helped hundreds of others see God’s Kingdom as man’s only hope for the future.
DeVerl loved his fishing and his favorite place was here in Cache County. He had a number of favorite spots on the Logan River.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 23rd at the Kingdom Hall, 2813 South Main in Nibley, Utah. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at
