D. LaVor Cook
Dewey LaVor Cook, 73, passed away Aug. 21, 2008 in Logan, Utah.
LaVor was born August 10, 1935 in Logan, Utah to Dewey and Burtress "Bee" Allsop Cook. He grew up in Hyde Park, Utah and attended Cache County schools. He married Betty Helen Andrews on February 4, 1954 in Preston, Idaho. After marrying they moved to Logan, Utah where they raised their family.
LaVor worked in the construction business hanging drywall and accoustic ceiling.
He then worked for the U. S. Forrest Service, a job that he loved, for a few years before returning to the construction business for several years. The last 18 years before retirement were working for Utah State University in Facilities Maintenance.
LaVor is survived by his wife, children Sue Ann (Brad) Cannon of Idaho Falls, Idaho,Vicky (Kevin) Dodge of Richmond, Utah, Brian Cook of Logan, Darin Cook of Logan, 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kelton and Wendell and sister Anna Lou Walker.
Viewings will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 9:30-10:30 a.m . Funeral services will be conducted by Bishop Samuel Peery at Allen-Hall Mortuary, Tuesday, August 26 at 11 :00 a.m . Graveside service will follow immediately at the Hyde Park cemetery.
