Dianne Pierson
On January 29, 2010, Dianne Pierson peacefully passed away at 65 years old, after her second long battle with cancer. She died in her sleep, at her home, with her husband and mother at her side. As she had dedicated her life to Family History Work, we know that she was greeted on the other side by many loving relatives for whom she had done temple work here in mortality.
Dianne was born in Oakland, California on January 12, 1945 to Ernest L. and Shirley M. Maxfield. While still an infant, her family moved to Emmett, Idaho, where she was raised and where she graduated from High School in 1963. She then moved to Salt Lake City, where she attended Stevens Henagar College and worked at Leyson Pearsall Jewelers. In 1968 she met her future husband, Lynn Pierson, on a blind date. They were married January 9, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Upon her marriage, she immediately assumed the role of mother to two young boys, a partial fulfillment of her patriarchal blessing. Soon thereafter she was blessed with three lovely daughters and another son.
Dianne is a faithful daughter of her heavenly father and served him with all of her heart here in mortality. While she valiantly fulfilled many callings in the Primary and Relief Society, the one she most enjoyed was serving as a temple worker at the Baptistery in the Logan Temple. Her happy smile and positive attitude uplifted all of those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn, and her mother, Shirley Maxfield of Emmett, Idaho; her 6 children: David (Joyce) of North Ogden, Steven (Pam) of Lewiston, Kristine Drollinger (Roger) of Clarkston, Debra Mauldin (Reid) of Logan, Ann Mickelson (Rick) of Idaho Falls, and Paul (Ryann) of Logan; 16 grandchildren (the oldest of which is currently serving an LDS mission in Seattle, Washington), and her older brother, Garold E. Maxfield (LaNetta) of Meridian, Idaho.
A viewing will be held Sunday, Jan 31 at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Monday, Feb 1, at the Hyrum Stake Center (600 S. 200 E., Hyrum) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 at the Hyrum Stake Center. Interment at Hyrum City Cemetery. Funeral Directors – Allen Hall Mortuary.
