Don William Boman
Don William Boman, our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, at George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home.
Don was born at the family home in Lewiston, Utah on July 10, 1925, to Golden Boman and Phoebe Clarissa Pitcher Boman. Don attended the Wheeler School near his home, Lewiston Elementary School and then North Cache High School Richmond, Utah. He was drafted to serve in WW II on November 29, 1943 and entered the service on December 21, 1943. He served in the 16th Battalion of the 13th Armored Division. He married Renee Skidmore in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 25, 1949.
He worked for Baugh Motors, Wonder Bread and Keebler Company from 1962 until retirement in 1990. He worked hard and received many outstanding salesman and salesman of the year awards. He was and always will be the “cookie man” to his friends, neighbors and family.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and willingly fulfilled many callings. He was especially grateful for the opportunity to serve several years as a Temple Officiator in the Logan Temple.
Don is survived by his children, Tel Skidmore Boman (Joan) of South Ogden, UT, Kris Chatelain (Peter) of Bountiful, UT, Nan LaBeau (Brent) of Ely, NV; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Lael (Roma) Boman of St. George, Asel ( Dora) Boman of Layton, Ted (Marilyn) Boman of Smithfield; sister Mary Boman Downs of Quincy, WA.; sister-in-law Joye Bambrough Boman of Bountiful. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Vernal, Ray and Alva, and sister Connie.
A viewing will be held Saturday December 7, 2013 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon with funeral services to follow at 12:30 p.m. at Allen Mortuary 420 East 1800 North, North Logan, Utah. Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at
