Don Christiansen Davis was born in Logan, Utah to Joseph Glenn and Wilhemina Davis on May 12th, 1934. He was the youngest of nine children. Don passed away Tuesday, April 30th, 2019. He was 84 years old.
On December 16th, 1954, he married the love of his life, LullaVe Squires, they later solemnized their marrage in the Logan LDS Temple. Both wonderful dancers, they could clear the floor while everyone stood by to watch their moves. They made their home in Logan, and had four wonderful children. LullaVe stayed by Don’s side to the end, caring for him and making sure that he knew she was there by his side always.
Don was a self-made man, preferring to forge his own way in life rather than working for someone else. He started his business career with Don’s Market, a small local grocery store on West Center. Later he began his Real Estate career and was a very successful sales professional with Squires Agencies. During this time, he acquired and developed Cache Chemical & Janitorial Supply which he successfully ran for many years before his retirement.
An avid outdoorsman, Don had a love of hunting and fishing. He was known to be able to tell some wonderful hunting and fishing stories. Occasionally he was accused of stretching these stories a wee bit, but on April 18th, 1966 he won the Al’s Sporting Goods Big Fishing Contest with a 29 inch 10 ½ pound Mackinaw Trout that he pulled out of Bear Lake. Proof that he never embellished his catch.
For many decades he enjoyed the lifetime friendships and hunting partners that shared membership in the Round Valley Hunting Club. He cherished years of hunting experiences with his sons Karl and Glenn along with the other members, and knew every inch of the Kearl Ranch where he acquired many fine trophies.
In the late 1960’s he and LullaVe purchased a vacation home on the shores of Bear Lake. There they enjoyed many decades spending time with their family and friends. Generations of his family have now enjoyed this wonderful place.
Don is survived by his spouse, LullaVe Davis, brother Floyd “Schott” Davis, his children Sharlene Stokes (Robert), Karl Don Davis (Shirlene), and Jennifer Dean (Aaron), 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his son, Glenn Davis, his parents, and 7 brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. Special thanks to Nurse Anna and Cameron for their loving care.
A Memorial service will be held at the Hillcrest 1st Ward Chapel 875 N. 1500 E. Logan, Utah. The family will be greeting friends and relatives from 10:30 to 11:30 on Monday May 6, 2019. Services will begin at 12:00 and burial will follow at the Logan Cemetery.
