Don Clark Wilson 84 passed away April 7, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born January 17, 1935 in Smithfield Utah to Seth C. and Afton Gyllenskog Wilson on a very cold and snowy day. He attended Cache County schools and then served in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 in Alaska where he learned to ski. He was on patrol many nights with the temperatures reaching 64 below 0. He wrote home that there was a woman behind every tree, there just wasn't any trees. He was released with an honorable discharge. He was a lifetime resident of Hyrum. He married Sherrill Andersen on March 29, 1957. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. They just celebrated 62 years of marriage.
He has always enjoyed being outdoors, fishing at the Old Man's fishing hole in Soda Springs Idaho. He enjoyed hunting elk and deer and camping. He loved taking his grandkids to the mountains to cut firewood and to go hunting with him. He taught them the value of hard work by including them in working on the farm feeding the cows , milking and burning ditches. He loved to take drives in the mountains up Blacksmith Fork Canyon, Scare Canyon, Hyrum Dry and especially to Paradise.
He was very service oriented, always plowing off the neighbors driveways of snow before doing his own. He was always helping his neighbors and the neighboring farmers. He thought of others before himself.
He was a carpenter by trade, a member of the Carpenters Union. He worked on commercial projects, schools, and bridges and many homes. He built his own home with his father. He was also a small dairy farmer.
He is survived by his wife Sherrill, three daughters, Gayle (Darrell) Duncan, Denise (Bruce) Grow, and Paula Olsen, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and by his sister Faye (Fred)Wright and family. He is also survived by the Nava family whom he lovingly accepted as his own.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandchildren and by a son-in-law.
