RIVER HEIGHTS, UTAH: Donald Lloyd Wolford, 84, of River Heights, passed peacefully on December 10, 2009 in the Sunshine Terrace.
He was born October 28, 1925 in Logan Utah a son of Harry L. and Florence Lucille Lamoreaux Wolford.
His life was full of joy, optimism, hard work and love. He married Janet Ella Davis in the Logan Temple on April 23, 1948.
He graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College. He served proudly in the US Navy during World War II. He was a signalman, prison guard and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained on the USS LaGrange. He was a faithful active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his dear wife Janet; five children, Julie Ann and Richard King; Mike and Pat Wolford; Allan and Laura Wolford; Lu and Vern Holt; Jay and Gayle Wolford, 20 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one brother, Darwin and Julie Wolford He was preceded in death by brother Dale and his sister Doris Heninger.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday December 15, 2009 from 10:00 - 11:30 and at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan followed by a private family funeral service at 12:00 pm. There will be a military tribute at the Providence Cemetery following the services.
