Donald B. Fullmer
North Logan, Utah: Donald Blain Fullmer, 80, born June 6, 1930 in Spring City, Utah to Thomas Darrell and Grace Josephine Blain Fullmer. Died on June 4, 2011 - 2 days before his 81st birthday in North Logan.
Daddy was raised in Spring City and graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1948. He then went on an LDS Mission to the South West Indian Mission. When he came home he married the girl next door to his sister, Joan McDaniel on May 28, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Harold B. Lee.
Daddy then joined the Army, going into officer training school and had a 20 year career, traveling around the world, including Korea & Vietnam. Retiring as a Lt. Col. In 1973.
Daddy graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Military Science.
After retiring he moved the family to North Logan, close to USU so the kids could go to college while living at home. He got bored so he worked many jobs: including North Logan City Public Works director and Justice of the Peace; DMC and Cache County School District as a bus driver trainer & supervisor, retiring again from there.
After which He and Joan enjoyed traveling around the world. Daddy had many Church callings, his favorites included working with the youth in the Explorer program and teaching many teenagers in Sunday School. He served in the Logan Temple for over ten years.
Daddy enjoyed the outdoors, hunting & fishing with his children and then his grandson.
Daddy is survived by his wife, Joan M. Fullmer; children, Teresa (Steve) Wiser, Mike (Joan Thornley); Cindy (Paul) Robinson; David Fullmer and two special Navajo daughters, Alvina Begay and Deanna Bennally and a special furry friend Kiska.
Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; four great grandsons; a sister, Needra Turner of St. George. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Darrel, and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the North Logan 2nd Ward Chapel, 1105 East 2100 North, North Logan. There will be a viewing on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North and on Saturday at the Church from 10:30-11:30 a.m prior to services. Interment will be in the North Logan Memorial Park & Cemetery with military honors.
