MAPLETON, UTAH: Donald Charles Steinagel, 76, of Mapleton, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, May 21, 2005 in Salt Lake City.
He was born June 28, 1928 in Sacramento, California a son of Charles and Viola May Prince Steinagel. He married Susan Raymond on August 28, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School in 1946 in Sacramento, CA. Don was a general contractor in Sacramento for 50+ years. During that time he earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues and his many clients. He retired in 1998 and moved his family to Mapleton, Utah. He was a member of the California National Guard. He loved coaching his children in baseball and was very involved in the community.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in three bishoprics, the stake high council in Sacramento, and served as a stake missionary. He enjoyed racing cars. He owned and operated Steinagel Construction.
Don is survived by his wife, Susan, of Mapleton, Utah; three sons, Michael and Melissa Steinagel, Topeka, KS; Matthew R. and Amber Steinagel, San Diego, CA; Cameron S. and Christina Steinagel, Las Vegas, NV; two daughters, Debbie S. and Charles Juelch, Mather, CA; Kristi Steinagel-Scherrer and Mirko Scherrer, Phoenix, AZ, a brother, Jack and Shirley Steinagel, Orem; He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Robert Steinagel.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at 12:00 pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary from 10:30 - 11:45 am. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
