Donald M. Corsi

SMITHFIELD, UTAH: Donald Meyers Corsi, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, and Friend passed away peacefully November 25th 2010 at the age of 86 at the home of his daughter Melanie Rock, Smithfield, Utah of complications of lung cancer.
Donald Meyers Corsi was born August 10th 1924 in Afton Wyoming. He was the first child of four sons born to Harry Meyers and Phelma Miller Corsi of Etna, Wyoming.
Don grew up on a farm and learned the value of hard work and love of the land. He also developed at an early age a love for horses. Through out all of his lite he worked with horses, whether it was for work or pleasure. His wife Elma, said that horses were Don's first true love. That was true until he met her, the love of his life.
On July 13th 1944 Don married his sweetheart and eternal companion Elma Wolfley in the Logan Temple. They lived in San Diego California the first two years of their marriage while Don was stationed there serving in the Navy during World War II. They returned to Etna, in Star Valley Wyoming, bought a farm and raised their three children, Kelly, Tamra, and Melanie. In 2001 Don and Elma sold their ranch and moved to Smithfield Utah.
Don always enjoyed being involved in the community, he wore many different hats through out his life. One of his favorite being anything that had to do with horses. He spent a lot of time working on the Lincoln Country Fair Board He always encouraged young people with their horses and always liked to see the youth participating at the horse shows and rodeos. Don loved to square dance and went around to a lot of dances and was the caller.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Don spent his life willingly serving and fulfilling his many callings. Don served as the Bishop of the Etna ward and also served in the Young Men's program numerous times. He loved the youth and was always happy working with them. Don and his wife served as missionary leaders and they also worked several years in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Don was known for his honesty and his generosity. He was known for his homemade salsa that was never too hot for him. He was also well known for his fun teasing and tormenting of everyone in the family. Don loved to be around family and especially his grandchildren, and he loved his family very much as they in turn loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his children, son, Kelly Corsi (Chris Gonzales) of Sandy, Utah, two daughters, Tamra Arnell (Roger) of South Jordan Utah, Melanie Sue Rock (Jeff) of Smithfield, Utah, and nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, three brothers, Rex of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Mac of Sandy, Utah, and Roy of South Jordan, Utah.

Don Corsi was preceded in death by his wife, Elma Wolfley Corsi, parents, Harry and Phelma Miller Corsi, and a stillborn son.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Etna Wyoming Ward. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan and at the church on Saturday from 11-12:30.
Interment will be in the Amesville Cemetery in Etna, WY.Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
