Logan - Don Jay Crockett 73, passed away on Saturday
May 14,2005 at Logan Regional Hospital.
Jay was the first born to Don E. and Florence Crockett
November 26, 1931 in Logan. He
graduated from Logan High School and Weber State
Police Academy. He married LaRee Bench in 1951 and
they had four children together. They later divorced.
He than married Jill Griffin in 1976 and they had two
children together. They later divorced.
Early in life he worked with his father building
custom kitchen cabinets. He then worked at Anderson
Coach in the cabinet shop. Jay also owned and operated
the Logan Saddlery for many years. He joined the Logan
Police Department in 1969, he later retired from the
Cache County Sheriffs Office as a Lieutenant. Jay
enjoyed a lifetime of hunting, camping, and fishing
with his family and friends. He spent many years
collecting western artifacts, arrowheads and guns.
Jay is survived by his 6 children Clinton (Maryann)
Crockett of Logan, Ernie (Patty) Crockett of Logan,
Cris (Troy) Davis of Evanston, WY, Connie (Marty)
Tibbitts of Providence, Jason Crockett (Ariane) of
Reno, NV, Jody (Lacey) Crockett of Logan. His two
sisters Lois (Dennis) Craighead of Logan, Judy (Bob)
Phillips of Ogden, 14 Grandchildren, 25 Great
Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on
Wednesday, May 18 at the Logan City Cemetery. Family
and Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m.
on Tuesday, May 17, and from 11:30 to 12:30 pm
Wednesday, May 18, at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East
